A grainy background.

99% of your “competition” is just noise

Jun 24, 2025

Yes, the market is oversaturated, but that doesn’t mean it’s filled with quality.

Most of what people do online is just noise.

The internet—social media, blogs, websites, streaming platforms, etc.—has virtually democratized our access to distribution on a global scale.

And yet, the majority of internet users fail to see any sort of meaningful change in their lives as a result of their time online.

Why?

Because most people spend their days scrolling instead of creating.

And of those that do create, many have no idea how to take that creativity and use it for something that actually makes the world a better place.

Use your gifts

We are all equipped with a unique set of gifts and talents.

Even if we don’t realize it.

So if you want to change the trajectory of your life, step one is to identify your gifts.

What are you good at?

And of those things you’re good at, what do you enjoy doing?

Odds are, it’s something creative.

Music, drawing, writing, design, communication.

All of these are monetizable skills.

You just need to figure out how to connect your love for your gifts with someone else’s need to benefit from them.

Acts of service

It’s super easy to spend a ton of time creating things no one wants or needs

Even if you enjoy them.

And while there’s nothing wrong with this, this setup generally tends to put your interests firmly in “hobby” territory.

And, generally speaking, hobbies don’t tend to alter the trajectory of your finances or your freedom.

Sure, they might fill your tank, but they’re probably not filling anyone else’s to any meaningful degree.

If you want to improve the course of your life, you have to use your talents to serve other people.

This means finding the intersection of your gifts, your aptitudes, and the needs of others.

How can you use your creativity to improve someone else’s life?

How can you serve them in a way that gives you life while simultaneously improving theirs?

When you figure this out, the power of the internet truly unlocks.

You are able to deliver value at scale.

And when you deliver value at scale, your life can change faster than you might imagine.

Start at zero

We all have to start somewhere.

No one jumps into the game and stands up a million-dollar project overnight.

Certainly not without prior experience.

So if you’re just starting out (or are simply early in your journey), your first task is to move the ball forward every day.

Start by posting anything, everything—see what sticks.

Explore your interests online and see how people respond.

Release music, start a podcast, tweet, write, film— just create

Try every medium you can think of that interests you.

Odds are where you start isn’t where you’ll end up.

I personally started by making vlogs and ended up in marketing.

Simply by pursuing my interests and listening to what people had to say in return.

So if you’re afraid to take the leap, stop overthinking it and just start.

Fail fast, fail often.

Learn, adjust, and repeat.

The sooner you get the ball rolling, the sooner your life can change for the better, and the sooner you can unlock the future you’ve been dreaming of.
